Heights and transitions

Finished floor height affects stair landings, door clearances, bathroom thresholds, cabinet panels, appliances, and transitions into unfinished rooms. These junctions should be measured with the full flooring assembly in mind.
Material direction also changes how a long or irregular basement reads. Establish layout lines around hallways, columns, doorways, and open zones so narrow cuts and abrupt direction changes are identified before installation.
